The IABB team is excited to announce our latest beta release is now live. With this release, we are getting closer to our full release.
This release includes the following:
- Updated list of businesses - We now have over 500 black owned businesses in our directory. The bulk of the businesses are restaurants located in the Atlanta, DC, and NYC metros.
- Atlanta Restaurants - https://beta.iamblackbusiness.com/businesses.php?filter=category|Restaurants&locale=Atlanta%2C+GA
- DC Restaurants - https://beta.iamblackbusiness.com/businesses.php?filter=category|Restaurants&locale=Washington+DC
- NYC Restaurants - https://beta.iamblackbusiness.com/businesses.php?filter=category|Restaurants&locale=nyc
- Updated process for new business entries - Previously, each new business submission would be reviewed by the IABB team before being displayed in the directory. We did this to ensure a complete listing. Now, we are removing that step from the process. As soon as a businesses is entered via the Add A Business page, it will be immediately available in the directory. Future enhancements to the directory will allows users to manage their own business listings and add any missing information. We will also give users the ability to send the IABB team a notification for any businesses that are not black owned or closed.
- Default category images - We not only want a functional site but a great looking site so we added in some great default images for businesses that do not have images.
- Updated categories and subcategories - As the directory continues to grow, we will continue to update our categories and subcategories to ensure each business is easily located when browsing the directory.
- Numerous, minor behind the scenes updates - Although these updates are not visible by our site visitors, they contribute to the overall stability and long term growth of our site.
This update has a lot of great updates but more importantly sets us up for the next release that should take us out of beta. We are thankful to all our supporters and look forward to continuing to serve our community by building the #1 source for locating black owned businesses.
