    ULGA-YP and IABB: Salute to Small Biz Week

    The Urban League of Greater Atlanta Young Professionals (ULGA-YP) in collaboration with I Am Black Business (IABB) brings you the Salute to Small Biz Week. This gives both ULGA-YP and IABB the opportunity to highlight multiple black-owned businesses in and around the metro Atlanta area. 

    Events Summary

    The kick-off event on Monday, May 2nd is the ULGA-YP's May General Body Meeting at 6:30pm at the Defoor Centre. The meeting will honor small business owners and entrepreneurs within the organization during a segement called "Young Professionals In the Spotlight." Attendees will be able to speak to the honorees about their business and the products and/or services they have to offer. In addition, ULGA-YP members will conduct elections for the 2016-2017 board. 

    On Wednesday, May 4th, there will be a neighborhood "Blackout" where we'll patronize a phenomenal list of black-owned businesses in Cobb, DeKalb, and Fulton counties. The Blackout in each county will begin at 7pm!!

    On Saturday, May 7th, from 11:30am - 4pm there is a black owned business tour! There is an amazing list of businesses lined up. From delectable scrubs, to fitness, food, drinks and desserts, cruise with ULGA-YP and IABB as we partake in a tour of black-owned businesses throughout the city!! Utilizing black-owned charter services Pendergrass Charters, Inc., we're visting the following businesses:

    • IWI Fresh
    • Vibe Ride
    • Sublime Doughnuts
    • Savoy Bar and Grill

     T-Shirts

    In addition to touring the city, you can show your support of black-owned businesses by purchasing a I Support Black Business t-shirt.

    Each shirt is $17 and they will be availabe on the day of the tour, Saturday, May 7th. In order to ensure that the shirts arrive on time for the tour, the pre-sale will run until Friday, April 29th. 

    Proceeds benefit scholarships for high school students and educational and economical services for clients of the Urban League of Greater Atlanta.

    We are excited about partnering with the Urban League of Greater Atlanta Young Professionals for this event. We hope that you will join us support black owned busineses in our city.
